Hughes Low Profile BGAN Satellite Terminal

Hughes Low Profile BGAN Satellite Terminal

The LPB modem delivers exceptional low power consumption (< 1 W idle) for off-the-grid installations. Both modem and antenna are IP-67 rated for outdoor use and can also be installed below ground surface for inconspicuous operation. A thin layer of dry, non-metallic material over the antenna is permissible during TX/RX operation.

Key Features:

  • Auto-on/autocontext activation automatically restores power and Packet Data Protocol (PDP) connection to the unit following loss of power and/or IP connection
  • Remote control via SMS—allows command and control of the terminal using SMS, including configuration, debugging, and access to its Web interface
  • Ultra-low power consumption
  • Basic installation; no PC required
  • Built-in GPS receiver
  • Over the air firmware upgrades
  • Minimal pointing of antenna is required; lay antenna flat and point arrow toward the satellite (antenna operates between 30°–60° elevation angle but can be tilted from horizontal, if necessary, at greater elevations.)

Interfaces:

  • IP Ethernet connection via IP-67 rated 6-pin Amphenol connector
  • Power-on switch signal via IP-67 rated 3-pin power input connector
  • IP-67 TNC RF connection on modem to lay flat antenna
  • USB for local configuration and setup
